FAQs
MumSpace is different to many other mothers groups that are around.
It is not about tips and learning how to manage sleep or other aspects of parenting.
It is about prioritising your needs, and sharing your experiences with others, knowing that you are not alone.
Here are some Frequently Asked Questions. Feel free to get in touch to find out more.

Do I have to speak?
It can feel nerve-wracking to come to a group with new people. There is no pressure to talk. Feel free to come and listen and see how that feels. I'm also happy to answer questions via email or talk about concerns before you sign up.
Is the group confidential?
The group is confidential so that everyone feels safe to share. This means that what people share stays in the room, unless anyone is at risk or needs help or support.
Is the group just talking?
The group is a combination of sharing experiences and feelings and discussing how Compassion Focused Therapy can help us to become kinder to ourselves and more able to look after others.
Can fathers or other carergivers
come along?
MumSpace is just for mothers. Fathers and other carers have important roles to play, however the changes that mothers undergo physically and emotionally are unique so this is a space just for them.
Do my children need to be a certain age for me to attend?
It doesn't matter what age your children are - you are welcome to come and share your experiences.
Can I bring my baby?
You can bring your baby or young child, as long as they will not understand the group (up to18 months). You don't have to bring a child - feel free to come if you don't have any children with you.
What if my child is crying
or I need to feed them?
Don't worry - during the group, you may need to attend to your child and that is fine - everyone is in the same boat. There will also be some toys to keep them interested and entertained.
How much does it cost?
The block of six weekly sessions is £90. If you need support with paying, please get in touch.
Do I need to attend all six sessions?
The block of six weekly sessions is £90. We recommend that you come to each session to get to know the group and get the most of the group, however if you can't make it to a session, that is fine - just let us know.
If I can't attend, can I give my slot to someone else?
No, it is a closed group and the idea is to try to come to all six sessions so that the group can build trust and members get to know one another.
